GENESIS -- AN INTEL MDS TO PC NETWORKING TOOL To start with you need the GENESIS Suite of programs, these are: For the PC: i) NET.COM For the MDS: i) NET Supplied on 8" Floppy disk You will also need a connecting cable that looks like this:- PC end MDS end 25 way female 25 way male COM1: Serial Ch 1 (:TO:) 1 1 2--------------------2 3--------------------3 4---� 4 5---� 5 6 6 7--------------------7 For the MDS to be slave to the PC type: NET<cr> on the MDS to activate Genesis on the MDS. The MDS will now take all its commands through Serial Channel 1. To copy files between the MDS and the PC type (on the PC): NET intel filespec TO PC filespec<cr> e.g. NET :F1:file.any TO a:w.xyz OR NET PC filespec TO intel filespec<CR> e.g. NET a:file.any TO :F1:abc.d For the PC to be slave to the MDS type: NET<cr> on the PC and use the file commands above on the MDS
